During our time at Ole Miss we learned that life isn’t always going to be linear. People tell you that being in college you will undergo trials and tribulations. Battles of vulnerability and self-discovery. I’ve seen Mya go through so much, especially being roommates. Seeing her find her strength during those isolation moments. Her strength was built in silence. It was before I graduated that I noticed her strength in little victories such as just saying no to what drained her in the past or by saying yes to what scared her the most. I am so proud of her for picking herself up. I still am proud of how far she has come and the woman she is becoming.

Mya is an extraordinary human being. A girl who has been through things no person should ever have to experience. Her strength and determination amaze me every single day. Her ability to find the good in every situation, and to persevere when she gets pushed down is something that I strive to do in my own life every day. I thank God for Mya because her ability to live life to the fullest has not only made her a better person but also an even better friend. She is selfless, full of kindness, and has the biggest and most beautiful heart. Mya loves just as much as she lives. She is everything good in this world. I pray every day that she keeps her strength and positive mindset, so she can continue to be herself and to inspire young women across the world who are just like her and even those who may not realize it. To know Mya, to be a close friend of hers, and to love her is one of the greatest gifts that God has given me. This step she is taking will help her skyrocket into bringing her story and her heart into the world. I love you Mya and I truly believe you can and will move mountains. Keep going and keep growing.
